Thursday Afternoon Update-Hate 8/30/2012

Life has been pretty hectic as of late. Between my full-time job, sculpting, trying to market the toys, and being a dad? No time.
I'll do better at finding time for you guys.

Next week, we kick off the program, where you guys will be the deciding judges in the fate of at least one of the Universe of Violence figures to be made in the future. I will be putting up three designs a week, with voting running the duration of that week. The three winners will go into the final week's vote, which will determine which design I will sculpt up for Universe of Violence Wave 3.

Zach Orian is worse at keeping up with this page than I am, and needs to get me his motherlovin' address, so I can send him a random prize (for one of his comments... I do that. It pays to particiapate, minions!). You're holding up progress, ZACH!

For those of you in Columbus, you can still get Gorewad Monsters at The Laughing Ogre comic shop. Get them now, because when the new figures reach my doorstep, Columbus Gorewads fans are getting completely random assortments! Last chance, in Cowtown, to get the original set in package.
We should have an announcement within the next couple of weeks, about the availability of the new Gorewads figures. Keep your eyes peeled.

The Iron Runt just had a birthday, and one of her presents, was an Allumilite casting kit. Simple, elementary, I know, but she's 10. You've got to start somewhere. I am going to help her cast the molds of her own polyclay creations, and help her in casting them... If the Minions of the Iron Toy Cult wish, I can post pictures of the process. Let me know if there's an interest for that.

Finally, Iron Runt and myself have gotten into the domestic release of the Predasaurs: DNA Fusion toys. I'll be writing a review on those, either tomorrow or Saturday.

The next couple of months is going to be crazy, so get in touch with us! Leave me your questions and comments, and we'll do our damnedest to make this the best damned toy experience possible.

Time to go...
It's been fun though, right?
(Prize to the first person that can identify where my sound-off quote is from!)

Snack-Sized Update Hate: 8/21/2012

So, Sandbagger at Sandtastic Toys posted THIS REVIEW of the Gorewad Monsters, on his blog.
Go check out the review, and let him know what you think. While you're there, check out his other custom work.

Also, Eric Nilla updated his BLOG, with a brief write-up on SFII and Fatal Fury keshi.
Check it out.

For years, I have been entertaining myself for years at www.Wrestlecrap.com. Here, they lampoon the best of the worst that the world of professional wrestling has to offer. The forums are chock full of entertaining shit-talkery as well.

Finally, here are some random (or not so random) pictures... You know how much I love trickery, so there is no telling how much of these are smoke-screening.

Time to go...
It's been fun though, right?

Future Universe of Violence Figures: You Decide?

Greetings, Minions!

In the next couple of weeks, I am going to do a million-billion sketches of potential UoV figures. Not all of them are going to make the cut, but I want YOU guys to decide which ones do.
I'll be posting them up here, on the blog, and allowing the Minions of the Iron Toy Cult to decide which ones move forward via popular vote.

Hell Turtle was the first design that was more-or-less demanded by the dedicated followers here, and to be totally honest? It really drives me to make sure that the sculpt for HT is 300% spot-on. I prefer to have that kind of pressure when I am working, so I am going to leave it up to you all.

I'll post a gang of sketches at the end of the week, for the next several weeks. The winner of that weeks vote, will move on to the final week's voting. Imagine it as a deathmatch tournament, with the Iron Toy Cult Minions deciding the victor.

Thank you all for your ongoing support, and I hope to continue making you all some neat toys.

Universe of Violence: Surprise Contest

So, I've been working on future UoV figures, and there is one design that I have been asked about more than any other.

Well, yes minions, your cries have been heard, and that piece is absolutely going to be ready for UoV 2 (there are still two parts to wave 1 that you guys haven't seen yet, be patient, haha). Does anybody know which character that I am making reference to?

First person to guess correctly, gets a prize.

Haha, I love sneaking surprises in on folks!

Gorewad Monsters: The Skinny

Hey, once again!
So, it has come to my attention that the amount of information that I have put out on the Gorewads, has not been clear. My apologies, and to rectify this:

Right now there is one pack of Gorewad Monsters, available at Eric Nilla (and my) Storenvy page. The first three sculpts come in a random variety of colors, and retail at $12 a pack (+Shipping).

Because of the strong welcome these have received, despite the fact that they were intended as a one-off project, Eric and I have decided to go full-bore with these; I released pictures of the latest seven sculpts that I have completed. Eric also has some in the works, and I also have more Gorewads in various states of completion.

We have not yet set a date for the new sculpts to be released, however it is important to mention that: For the initial release, all of the figures will be released in dedicated 3-packs. After the first month of the release, we're going to start packaging the 3-packs at random.

We didn't want to hose the folks that have already got in on these little bastards, so once we announce the release of the entire first wave, you'll have an opportunity to purchase character specific packs.
We'll also announce when we're going with the random assortments, as to not take anybody by surprise.
Right now, these can also be purchased at The Laughing Ogre comics shop, located at 4258 North High Street, Columbus, OH 43214.
Lots of random colors, lots of figures, and if you guys have any other questions about the line, just leave them in the comments on this post.

Time to go...
It's been fun though, right?

New Gorewads Sculpts, Revealed!

So, as promised, here are some not-shitty, not-obscured pictures of upcoming Gorewad Monsters figures:

So, there are seven sculpts pictured. I put the Diet Hell Turtle on there, for size comparison. Also, about that, the daddy of DHT is almost ready to be seen. That's another post for another day, though.
Let me know which ones you guys like the most, and which ones you don't like as much. Leave your thoughts in the comments.
You never know when I'll get the itch to mail out free GWs
for good comments.

I think this may just be new-banner material...
And, who is this smug little bastard?

Time to go...
It's been fun though, right?

Mattel to Bring Back M.U.S.C.L.E...?

Heya, party people.

Ugh, god, that was terrible sounding.

So, apparently, at Mattel's WWE Toyfair showing, they had proto-dummies of potential M.U.S.C.L.E.-styled WWE figures. Other blogs have already posted vids and pics, so, I am not going to bother with that shit. No, I am going to give you all the shortcuts to these resources...

Let Enrique Ruvalcaba know what you think on Facebook. Enrique Ruvalcaba is the Director of Marketing at Mattel, and he asked for any feedback we have on these figures. If we bark loud enough, for long enough, they'll get made.

Chad, over at University of M.U.S.C.L.E., has also started a campaign to get interest and awareness up on this opportunity. Click the UoM link, to see a video interview with Enrique Ruvalcaba from Toyfair. In the interview, Ruvalcaba informs us that the line hasn't been approved, but there are people within Mattel that were around when M.U.S.C.L.E. was released... And they want the whole little rubber guys movement to make a comeback. All they need is our support and Mattel will finally give us what we've been asking for, for the last 25 years.

Also, hit up Mattel on Twitter, and let them know that you want these made. Also, give them feedback so they can put out the best product possible. Chad from UoM and Soupie from Minifigures XD have already produced some nice insight... Let's keep the dialogue flowing.

Alright kids... I'm about to go stomp Sara Faust at One Piece (for Gamecube), like a NARC at a bike rally.

It's been fun though, right?
