Update City

So, it's been a crazy Summer so far. Things are starting to come together, while some other stuff fell apart. There's really not any sense in crying over spilled milk, or spilled RTV, but there is good and bad news to report... And there are some obvious changes coming down the pike as a result. I'll get to those things in a second...

Right now, I want to draw some attention to the Ironhaus:BLACK exclusive HORDE figures from Ironhaus X Trutek. I've been taunting you guys with the promise of these guys for months now,  and they are finally here! The Horde-Ape, Man-and-Eel, and Mer-Mace have all made their debut in the Ironhaus Store at Storenvy (link to the store in top/left of this page). I went ahead and broke up the five sets of AP figures, so that all of the figures can be purchased individually. I didn't want people being left out, and I wasn't going to go with the "Random Blind Bag" route with these guys, as I know that is a source of consternation with a lot of the loyal Ironhaus Horde members. There's fifteen total figures (five of each), and they can be found right now at the store, while supplies last.

 Next, I have some not-so-fun news: Universe of Violence is done. Finished. That's all. Eric Nilla and I have decided to focus on our individual projects, moving forward. All of the Universe of Violence figures (excluding Deadface and Hell Turtle) will be available at Eric's Storenvy page, so if you needed a second chance at picking up Cedargief, The Blemmyae Warrior, Beetlepunk, or Arn Hellstorm, go to Eric's store and get them. They'll be available in intervals, and stay tuned for a special Hell Turtle/Deadface release after the Summer holiday season. Best of luck to Eric, in his future endeavors.

Finally, here's a sneak peek at one of the next Micro Bastards figures: Frankenblem!

There was a strong enough reception for this little guy, who debuted as a companion Gorewad in the initial Hell Turtle release, that he's getting the Micro Bastards treatment! I am pretty excited about this guy. Here he is, pictured next to a classic MUSCLE figure, for a size comparison. He'll be at the helm of the second set of Micro Bastards, which I may expand to six figures, instead of five. We'll see how well that works, compared to the current offering.

Finally, stay tuned next month, for the Ironhaus:BLACK Hell Turtle release. I will have some really cool extras to pack in with that figure, that I can't wait to announce.

Wednesdays Are For Suckers, Man

Why, hello there.

It's me, Rommel, back from the dead to yammer on some more about these new Micro Bastards figures.  I have seen a couple of reviews, and they were fair, but also very nice. One at Nerditis, just went up today, and then the indomitable Frank K. put one up at Little Weirdos blog, too. See what folks have to say about Micro Bastards, before you buy 'em.

I've been super busy, sculpting like crazy and trying to keep ahead on production. There's been a lot of changes lately, which I will have to do another blog post to announce (UoV coming to a close... More on that later). Times are a changin', but here at Ironhaus we're looking forward. I did a tally today, and I am well over the halfway mark to my goal for 2013 (releasing 50 different sculpts this year)! There's another 15 sculpts that are basically on-deck, waiting to be revealed/released. Times are exciting, and I can't wait to show you guys all of the stuff I have been working on. I know, I know, that's always what these damn blog artists say when they are stalling... And yeah. I am pretty much stalling with the new content, but hopefully when you see this stuff, you'll know why. Finally, keeps your eyes peeled. Ironhaus: BLACK series toys will be hitting the store soon... But, I won't be releasing them at a pre-specified date. You'll just have to check in, and see if they are taunting you from the hallowed halls of the Ironhaus Toy Store. You know Hell Turtle: BLACK, and HORDE: BLACK figures are coming soon... Who is going to land first?

Micro Bastards Set 1: Rommel Takes Pictures That Don't Suck

Sorry, gang. I have had a ton of stuff going on lately. Between work, sculpting on multiple collabs, and a little bit of indie toy biz drama, it's been tough to find the time to actually hunker down and generate a new post.

It did occur to me, that I hadn't taken and decent shots of ALL of the Micro Bastards, including the figure that I quietly included in the Set 1 release: MB Beetle Punk!

The full line-up sports Beetle Punk, Rat Bastard, Filth, Mike Grady, and the Coral Golem.  I'm already working on finishing Set 2, and the sketching phase to Set 3 has been completed. I'm not trying to inundate you guys or give you toy fatigue, so those releases might not start until mid-Summer. I'll keep you updated. I was considering running a contest, with the main prize being the original sculpt of one of the Micro Bastards... What do YOU think?
