Tuesday Update Hate 7/31/2012

Hello, again.

I don't have a whole lot to show you guys today, as all of my finished pieces have been sent off, and they are in the process of being turned into little rubber guys. I have the next batch working, but they are not quite at a place where I can share... All I can promise you, is that there will be a lot more Gorewads, and that my next three Universe of Violence figures are already on the books. More pictures, probably by the end of the week.

Speaking of Universe of Violence, since I am sculpting more than I need, what do you guys think of a contest, where you guys get to vote on the 3rd of three figures to be included in the line?

Links to check out:

Soupie at MinifiguresXD, has written a review on the Gorewad Monsters experience. Check it out. He said some nice things about the line, and I didn't even have to pay him to do it!

Man E Toys, also put up something on the 2nd Wave UoV Horseman inspired figure. He's got a neat blog, covering a lot of different venues in the custom toy community. Check him out.

Also, Universe of Violence figures and Gorewad Monsters are on sale at http://ericnilla.storenvy.com/, right now. If you're in Central Ohio, you can walk right into Laughing Ogre Comics, and walk out with a pack of Gorewad Monsters for $12. If the brick and mortar experience works out, we'll keep offering them at stores, hint hint.

That's all for today...
It's been fun though, right?

Gorewad Insult Contest 2: The Winner!

So, after another round of insults have come and gone, and we had some good ones, and some real stinkers. First, I would like to thank Tom Andre for his venomous mini-essays. TL:DR, you bug-eyed goober.

The one insult, that captured my heart more than any of the others, though, was Anna Stiffler's "When you called 911 for a house fire, the firemen rushed over to push you back in."Congrats, Anna, for appealing to my inner arsonist. Now, do us all a favor, and jump in front of a bus.

Time to go...
It's been fun though, right?

Thank You

1986 was a benchmark year, in my life.

I was 5 years old, super into wrestling, and M.U.S.C.L.E. miniature figures were released here in the United States. From the moment that I got my grubby little paws on those M.U.S.C.L.E. figures, my life was forever changed. He-Man didn't matter anymore, GI Joe couldn't get my attention at all, and Transformers also took a back seat to the little monster wrestler figurines.

Over the years, I grew up and moved on to other things, but I always had a certain affinity for those M.U.S.C.L.E. figures. I didn't have any of my own, so I would get polymer based clays from the hobby store, and I would (laughably) try to fashion my own. Even if I had pictures of some of my freshmen and sophomore efforts, I sure as shit wouldn't show them to you... They were awful.

But, I kept with it, and when Ebay became more of an entity, I started to rebuild my M.U.S.C.L.E.  collection. Having the coveted toys of my childhood in hand, I learned a few new approaches to making my own miniatures, and even tried my hand at making molds of some of these laughable "toys".

I also learned, that M.U.S.C.L.E. came from Kinkeshi, or little rubber figurines from Japan. They were based on characters from the comic and cartoon property "Kinnikuman". I started following the comics,  I kept on sculpting, and here we are today...

I have met tremendous friends, all over the country (and world), because of Kinnikuman/M.U.S.C.L.E.
And, from that, I have also gotten to a point where I am co-releasing two custom toylines with Eric Nilla, and I have even become friends with one half of the creative team behind Kinnikuman on Facebook...

So, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank Takashi Shimada (Shimada Sensei) for all of the inspiration.

Thank you.

Universe of Violence: Continues

Alright, yesterday, I posted some teaser pics of some figures that are in the works... And after burning the candle at both ends, I proudly present one of the next Universe of Violence figures... He has no name yet, but hopefully he speaks for himself:

I hope you guys like him! My Horsemen inspired wrestler, with a monster clawing it's way out of his back! He's tailor-made for spinebusters and piledrivers. I can't wait!

Time to go...
It's been fun though, right?

Tuesday Update Hate, 7/24/2012

Hello, again... Just a reminder, Insult Contest is over on Friday... Better get your licks in now, before it's all finished!

Also, here's some pics of things I have been working on as of late. Some of which you'll be seeing sooner than later, I would conjecture. I still have work to go on almost all of them, but the new Gorewad Monster is ready to go! Let me know what you think, Minions of the Rabid Toy Cult!

Contest Madness!!!

Greetings, Minions of the Rabid Toy Cult!

First off, I'd like to congratulate Paul the Watcher, for winning the Universe of Violence Contest (sort of: Paul, you've got to join the blog for it to count! Sign up by midnight, and you're good! Same goes for the runner-up Charles Toys Nut... Get signed up, and get me your addresses, and I will get toys in the mail to you... Deal?)

Now, for the main order of business!
The Gorewad Monsters Insult Contest: Part 2 Electric Bugaloo!
Ground Rules:
1. No slurs or epitaphs, at all. They aren't necessary for a good insult, and I just don't like them.
2. No repeating insults. If you can bother to read the insults that came before you, I can't be bothered to send you free toys. <3
3. Swearing doesn't make a bad insult good. Swearing is allowed, but creativity is the key! Which brings me to...
4. Don't just copy old insults off of the interwebz. If I can google your insult, I'm just going to ignore it.

This contest is open to anybody. Everybody. Blog members and anybody else. Contest ends, whenever I randomly decide on July 27th. Bring the hurt, minions! Bring it strong!

Wednesday Update Hate 7/18/12

So, I've been burning that midnight oil, working on sculpts for several projects, and while I can't get super into the details for some of what I'm doing, I can certainly give you guys some thinly veiled teasers:

And don't forget about the Universe of Violence : Favorite Wrestling Match Contest, below. It's over on Friday,  so get your stories in, and try to win a one of a kind Blemmyea Warrior!

Also, since I am in a particularly giving mood, and I want to see more comments on posts, I am going to pick one random comment-maker a month, to send a prize to. You'll never know when I'm going to announce a winner, so participate! Make your thoughts known! Unless you're a dummy, in which case, you should probably just pull your bottom lip over your face, and suck as hard as you can.

Gotta go.
It's been fun though, right?

Universe of Violence: Contest!!

Heya, everybody... It's the determined German, and I've got this one of a kind Universe of Violence, Blemmyea figure to put up for grabs. Blemmy is a translucent red, with a minty opaque green pushed through, and cast in rubber.
Now, here's the grift: Tell me, what is your favorite wrestling match of all time, and why?

A few ground rules:
1. Unlike the Gorewad Monster Insult Contest, you only get one shot at this. You have to pick one favorite match, and anybody trying to post multiples is disqualified... No ifs, ands or buts.
2. It can literally be any match, from the states, UK, Japan, Mexico, wherever. It doesn't matter where or when it happened, as long as...
3. Your write up needs to be a complete thought. It doesn't have to be any longer than a paragraph, but you've got to give us the who, what, where, when and of course, why.
4. You've got to be a member. If you're not, sign up. If you're not a member, you ain't gettin' shit! <3
I'll be selecting my favorite testimonial on Friday, July 20th.

And don't forget: on the 20th, I am starting the second Gorewad Monsters Insult contest. Get your material right, dummies, because, it's about to be on like Marvin Gaye in fly-boots.

Time to go...
It's been fun though, right?

Friday the 13th

So, real quick update:

New contest for July on the 20th, running to the 27th... It'll be a second chance to dance, because it'll be  an all new insult contest. I am giving you guys a little time to brush up on your material, as the rules will be just a little different this time. Work on your material, because I am expecting bigger, badder, and more original insults this time around!

July 29th, we open the doors for Universe of Violence, and Gorewad Monsters... A heads up, if any of the less motivated Minions of the Rabid Toy Cult missed that news the first time around.

Also, as Eric Nilla can attest to, I usually sculpt WAY too much. Such is the case, with the 2nd wave of Gorewad Monsters. I have sculpted more designs than we will use this time around, and I will be throwing sculpts out. The difference is, this time I'll be putting the power in your hands. After the GW: Wave 1 dust has settled, I'm going to let YOU, my readers, vote and decide which three sculpts get included in the second wave.
Eric Nilla shits live ants.
Finally, I am sneaking miniature views into the future works of IroNilla, and eagle-eyed readers will see the writing on the wall. I post red-herrings, for sure, but there are also pieces you can count on seeing in the future, so stay tuned.

Time to go, kids...
It's been fun though, right?

Perry Saturn No-Sold Three Bullets

So, while we're waiting for July 29th's release of the Gorewad Monsters, and the Universe of Violence Wave One to hit, I figured I would give you guys a taste of some more of the stuff that I've been putting together here, at Ironhaus...

So, there are three new Gorewads, two are complete, one is near completion, in addition to the new sculpts I sent out, last week.
Also, above, is the third finished figure for a THIRD as-of-yet-unnamed project, that IroNilla will announce later, likey this fall, after the dust has settled on the inaugural IroNilla releases.

Also, don't forget to keep up with Dave at Amerikaiju, for his new H.A.C.K. wave one singles offerings, as well as his release of H.A.C.K. wave two.

Time to go...
It's been fun though, right?

Eric Nilla Updated His Blog!

Eric Nilla finally updated his blog. He tried to put a little contest in the post, on the sly, but here I am, as always, to be a fly in the ointment: Join his blog, and the first person to comment on his post (that isn't me) wins a free custom by Eric, himself.

What are you waiting for? Don't be a pecker-head, go win free toys!

Hey! BATTLEGRIP!

So, at BATTLEGRIP, they want to know when the Gorewad Monsters become available.

July 29, 2012. That's when.

That being said, thanks for the press!
Not to be pedantic, but these are actually rubber, and not resin. They bounce!
Maybe we can work out a BG/Gorewad contest for your readers. I know the Insult Contest we had here at Ironhaus, was a lot of fun. Get in touch. We'll do a thing.

Tuesday Morning Update-Hate

So, I sent off ye olde package of toys to Eric Nilla, who coincidentally updated his page (layout) yesterday, AND received the package of original sculpts. There was a new Gorewad sculpt in the package, as well as some other goodies. Eric will also be contributing the second wave of Gorewad Monsters, and I am pretty excited to see what he comes up with.
I have five more GW sculpts in the works, and when they get a little further along, I am going to have a vote on here, for which three out of the five, will actually make it to see daylight.

Also, if you haven't checked out Little Rubber Guys, shame on you. It's the LRG 10th anniversary, and a lot of cool shit is going on.

Finally, David Lee and Amerikaiju are gearing up to release H.A.C.K. wave 2.
Remember THIS?
Well, I can't write a review on the second wave, as Dave put me to work on a piece for wave 2. He's dropping teasers left and right on LRG and at Amerikaiju's blog... So stay tuned.

That's all for now.
It's been fun though, right?

Neat Shit

First off, "Whoa, what in the blazing shit is this?"
Awesome. That's what.

Next up: Happy Birthday, to Little Rubber Guys, the best online forum for collectors of diminutive mini figures. Whether it's M.U.S.C.L.E., Monster in My Pocket, Battle Beasts, Weirdball Wrestlers, Remco Mini Mashers, Garbage Pail Kids Cheap Toys... Or any other mini figure line that you can think of, not only can you find information on there, but the information behind the line to make yourself a knowledgeable collector. It's one hell of a community, and I am proud to say that I have been on the board almost from the very beginning.
Typically, forums are a good short term solution to the boredom-issue, but LRG has been so much more. To commemorate the event, the multi-talented bastard-guy known as Eric Nilla and I, have teamed up to make this:

The LRG X figure, is simple, it's shiny, and it's begging to be kitbashed and customized however LRG fans can imagine. I think I should also mention, that Eric Nilla likes to smell old people's feet.

We're going to price this guy to own, and as soon as we know how much rubber it's going to take to produce them, we can price them... But, we're going to price them as low as possible, and you can only buy them as board members on LRG. So come on out, join the board, look around. If you need help finding figures, or are looking for advice on how to sculpt and cast molds... LRG is going to have what you're looking for.

Also, check out that awful bastard, Eric Nilla's blog. Maybe he'll stop being a lazy fuckis, and update that shit once in a while. I know for a fact, that he has material.

Time to go...
It's been fun though, right?

The Stalling Post

I have neat stuff to tell you.

I promise.

I will tell you.

Maybe tomorrow? Hahahaha, Fuck man, I don't know.

Keep checking in, and I will have new pics, and new news.

 (Hint: It's not Milton Berle.)

(Those of you familiar with my shit-ass comics, should be very happy to know, that the Main Yutz is getting the toy treatment, fairly soon. Stay tuned!)

(What the fuck?! Man, I don't know. Ask a doctor.)

Alright, kids, go to bed.
It's been fun though, right?
